Heating History in the making – Historic England

Historic England have been testing air source and ground source heat pumps on their listed properties for a little while. We included their results in an earlier blog about the effectiveness of heat pumps in older buildings, which is one of the largest concerns we hear from potential customers.

England’s national heritage body has announced new guidance on the use of solar panels, heat pumps and insulation in listed and conservation area properties. A staggering 5% of the UK’s total carbon emissions come from these properties.

The guidelines aim to encourage more uniformity with decisions at the Council, and individual conservation officer level. The move also aims to help building and retrofit businesses plan for their future with more confidence to train & hire new staff.

Over half of our customers have solid wall properties, and see approx 30-50% decrease in their overall energy & electricity bills after a full ECO4 installation. Call us to understand your options for funding.
