The Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) supports the decarbonisation of heat in buildings.
It provides upfront capital grants to support the installation of heat pumps and biomass boilers
in homes and non-domestic buildings in England and Wales. Grants of £7,500 are available for
air source heat pumps (ASHPs) and ground source heat pumps (GSHPs) and £5,000 available
for biomass boilers.
Grants are ordered at a flat rate and do not vary by capacity of the installation, which must not
exceed 45 kWth unless it is a shared ground loop (SGL) which may have a maximum capacity of
300kwth.”
Following the Chancellor’s budget, the UK Government has confirmed that the ECO4 energy efficiency scheme will end in March 2026, with no replacement planned. Chancellor Rachel Reeves has announced the ECO4 scheme will end in March 2026. This grant opportunity has helps thousands of UK households on low incomes or with health conditions that make them vulnerable to the cold, access to a warmer/energy-efficient home. It’s deeply concerning to see this support being cut.
If you’ve been considering making your home more energy-efficient, the ECO4 scheme has been by far the most effective grant scheme and way to improve both energy efficiency and affordability. From solar panels and air source heat pumps to modern high-heat storage heaters, gas boilers, and insulation, ECO4 helps you upgrade your home with essential improvements.
